Last night i watched the short film The Subconscious Art of Graffiti Removal. It’s a gorgeous little piece of brilliant, subtle sarcasm which compared the subconscious art created by civil servants not having the time/energy to match their paint with the graffiti-covered wall color to the abstract work of Rothko and Malevich. Pretty genius if you ask me. It was a simply filmed and edited commentary on a phenomenon that is almost completely overlooked and never appreciated, made all the more magical and intriguing by the Miranda July narration.
